LOUISVILLE, KY -- Chet Mitchell, program director at the Lamplight at Morning Pointe Alzheimer's Center of Excellence, Louisville, has been elected to the Fern Creek Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. His two-year term began this January.
Mitchell has volunteered for the Chamber for the past few years, supporting a number of initiatives and events, including the "Taste of Fern Creek," annual Golf Scramble, and the Fern Creek Fall Festival.
Through his involvement with the Chamber, Mitchell has helped form a relationship between the Louisville community and Morning Pointe early memory care residents, giving them the opportunity to volunteer in key Chamber events.
"The spirit of volunteerism is what truly unites a community," Mitchell says. "Goodwill forms meaningful partnerships with local businesses and organizations, and it's important that everyone feels like they can be involved in improving their community in some way."
Morning Pointe associates work with nonprofits and organizations to bring enrichment and purposeful activities to the residents as part of the Meaningful Day™ program.
